Skin Care
Acne
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles is plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It is the root cause of whiteheads, blackheads and pimples. Teenagers are more prone to it, while adults also battle with this condition on a day to day basis.
Treatments
Acne medications work by reducing oil production and swelling or by treating bacterial infection. With most prescription acne drugs, you may not see results for four to eight weeks. It can take many months or years for your acne to clear up completely.
The treatment regimen your doctor recommends depends on your age, the type and severity of your acne, and what you are willing to commit to. For example, you may need to wash and apply medications to the affected skin twice a day for several weeks. Topical medications and drugs you take by mouth (oral medication) are often used in combination. Treatment options for pregnant women are limited due to the risk of side effects.
Scar Revision
The scars left behind as a result of acne can be the most emotionally and physically damaging effect. Acne Scar Revision is a surgical technique which excises deeply pitted scars and sutures together the open edges of skin. This procedure creates a less pronounced scar which typically heals itself over time.
Derma Roller Procedure
A derma roller treatment basically entails the needle-covered device which is gently rolled on your skin so that it can cover all the areas of the skin. It is a cosmetic procedure which is less invasive and has hardly any downtime. When the needles gently penetrate your skin, it stimulates the flow of blood and acts as an exfoliator. You can think of it as a device used for massaging your skin.
Vampire Facial
A Vampire Facial is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment option to rejuvenate your skin and refresh your appearance. This unique treatment combines microneedling and PRP to stimulate your body’s role in enhancing your skin. PRP or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a substance found naturally in your body that stimulates natural growth processes. As this procedure incorporates substances found in your own body, this treatment is designed to be safe and effective to all skin tones and types.

Leprology is the medical science that focuses on the study of leprosy, which is a chronic & mildly infectious disease caused by mycobacterium leprae, affecting the peripheral nervous system, skin, and nasal mucosa. It is characterized by ulcerations, tubercular nodules, and loss of sensation that sometimes leads to traumatic amputation of the anesthetized part.

Symptoms:
The primary symptoms of Leprosy are listed below:
Skin sores or lesions that do not heal after several months (lesions are flat or slightly elevated and light in color or slightly red)
Skin lumps and bumps that can be disfiguring
Numbness of the skin because of damage to the nerves under the skin
Muscle weakness
Types:
Tuberculoid Leprosy:
The immune response is good in tuberculoid leprosy. A person with this infection will only have a few lessons, and it will not be severe. This type of leprosy is minimally communicable.
Lepromatous Leprosy:
The immunological response in lepromatous leprosy is poor. The skin, nerves, and other organs are also affected by this variety. With numerous lesions present, including tumors, it is more infectious.
Borderline Leprosy:
Both tuberculoid and lepromatous leprosy have clinical symptoms in borderline leprosy. This type is said to be in the middle of the two others.
Treatments:
Leprosy is most commonly treated with antibiotics, which can kill the M. leprae bacteria in your body. However, they can’t reverse nerve damage or deformities caused by leprosy. This is why early treatment is important. You may need to take antibiotics for 6 months or longer, depending on the severity of your infection.
What is it ?
Hair grows on almost all of your skin surfaces, except the palms of your hands, soles of your feet, lips or eyelids. It can be either vellus (fine hair) or androgenic (thick coarse hair), depending on the area of growth. Excessive hair fall is something no one wants and everyone fears. Lush hair is often considered as an integral part to look more put together, that nobody wants hair thinning or breaking. As we have around 100,000 hairs on the head, it is normal for a person to lose about 50 to 100 strands of hair a day. Old hair sheds making room for new ones to grow. The problem comes up when hair loss is well above 100 strands per day (excessive hair fall), or when new hairs don’t come up to compensate for the ones lost (hair loss). This can strike out of the blue and can also happen so gradually that you barely notice it. It can be both reversible or irreversible. It can show up as either localized thinning or bald patches.

Evaluation
Blood Test : This might help uncover medical conditions that can cause hair loss.
Pull Test : The doctor gently pulls several dozen hairs to see how many come out. This helps determine the stage of the shedding process.
Scalp Biopsy : Your doctor scrapes samples from the skin or from a few hairs plucked from the scalp to examine the hair roots under a microscope. This can help determine whether an infection is causing hair loss.
Light Microscopy : Your doctor uses a special instrument to examine hairs trimmed at their bases. Microscopy helps uncover possible disorders of the hair shaft.
Treatment
Treatment for hair loss will vary on the basis of the root cause of the disorder. While some choose to treat hair loss with medicine or hair transplant surgery, others choose to opt for hair wigs or other hair styling methods.
PRP Therapy:PRP or Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy is an innovative solution to stimulate hair growth. During a PRP session, the doctor draws blood, usually from a patient’s arm. He/she will then spin the blood to extract plasma, which is a substance found in the blood that contains platelets that promote hair growth. The doctor then injects the plasma into areas on the scalp affected by hair loss — usually about 15 to 20 injections per PRP session.
Inherited Hair Loss Treatment:This type of hair loss treatment aims to prevent hair loss, encourage growth and help cover bald areas on the scalp. Medication for this can include Minoxidil or Finasteride.
Surgery:Surgical procedures for hair loss will include hair transplant, as well as scalp reduction or scalp flaps.
Wigs: Some people elect to try this as an alternative to medical treatment as it is comparatively much easier and pain free. Wigs can be used to cover either permanent or temporary hair loss, and can be customized.

Nail disorder is a condition that affects the appearance of fingernails and toenails. Abnormalities in the nails can be caused by bacteria, fungus or virus infections, underlying conditions and inherited ailments. It can arise at any age. About 50% of all nail disorders are of infectious origin, 15% are due to inflammatory or metabolic conditions, and 5% are due to malignancies and pigment disturbances. Fungal infections of the nails are more common than bacterial infections. High-risk groups who suffer from this condition include diabetics & dialysis patients, transplant recipients, and cancer patients.

Treatment
Oral & Physical Medication:
If you have a mild infection, a medicine that you apply to your nails may get rid of the infection. This treatment helps keep new fungus out while the nails grow. If you need more-aggressive treatment, your dermatologist may prescribe antifungal pills. These have a higher cure rate than medicine you apply to your nails.
Nail Avulsion:
Nail Avulsion is the separation of the nail plate from the surrounding structures and is the most frequently performed surgical or nonsurgical, chemical procedure on the nail unit. It can be accomplished using either a distal or a proximal anatomical approach. The former is the most frequently used technique, in which the nail plate is released from its attachment from the nail bed at the hyponychium, while in the latter, the nail plate is separated from the proximal nail fold followed by a complete separation. Chemical nail avulsion can also be done using urea ointments and is a valuable technique that avoids the complications encountered with its surgical counterpart.

Our earlobes are susceptible to stretching, tearing, and keloid scarring once they are pierced. The tears found near them often split due to trauma and end up being very visible. Earlobe repair is a reconstructive procedure that physicians perform to fix a torn or stretched appearance of an earlobe. This procedure is vital for split earlobes, enlarged piercing holes, or stretched piercing correction. The procedure lets you wear earrings again after a full recovery since it repairs the splits.

- Heavy earrings worn over long periods of time.
- Earrings getting caught in other objects and then pulled, typically long dangling ones.
- Children pulling on earrings.
- Multiple piercings too close together or too close to the bottom of the lobe.
- Sudden trauma.
Treatment
Lobuloplasty:
Lobuloplasty is the surgical procedure prescribed to repair a split or torn earlobe. This process requires the doctor to extend the split downwards to complete the ear. Subsequently, he/she stitches the split together with minimum sutures to make the ear whole again. The sutures are kept in place for a week after which the doctor will remove them during a follow-up visit. The split/torn earlobe is repaired under a local anaesthesia.
Suture-less Method:
In this procedure, a surgical glue is applied to the elongated earlobes and the edges are approximated making it a completely pain free procedure. However, the results are quite temporary.
Botox Treatment
Botox is a protein made from botulinum toxin. They work by blocking the nerves that contract muscles, softening the appearance of wrinkles. A Botox treatment is minimally invasive and is considered a safe, effective treatment for fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. It can also be used on the forehead between the eyes. It has both cosmetic and medical uses. Botox Injections temporarily block nerve signals and muscle contractions. This improves the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes and between the eyebrows. It can also slow the formation of new lines by preventing the contraction of facial muscles.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow's feet become more apparent. The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. These fillers primarily constitute of Hyaluronic Acid, Calcium Hydroxylapatite, Poly-L-lactic Acid and Polymethylmethacrylate. This procedure can be very helpful in diminishing the early signs of aging and is a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.

Laser Resurfacing is a facial rejuvenation procedure that uses a laser to improve the skin's appearance or treat minor facial flaws. It can lessen the appearance of fine lines in the face and can also improve your complexion. This non-surgical procedure smoothens out your wrinkles, reduces scars and removes brown spots on your body. This procedure visibly improves your skin tone, texture and elasticity, leaving you with younger-looking skin that glows with health. The beneficial effects of this service are long lasting, but requires regular maintenance. However, it can't eliminate sagging of the skin.
make An AppoinmentVolite Skin booster
One of the key factors that promotes aging of our skin is the decrease in percentage of hyaluronic acid present in our skin's inner layers. This leads to an increase in sagged, wrinkled and dehydrated appearance of the skin. This is where skin booster treatments comes into action. Juvéderm Volite is one of the popular brands that advocates skin boosters that are concentrated on Hyaluronic Acid. Volite is not essentially a hyaluronic acid filler, but a hyaluronic gel which is injected to the middle layers of the dermis. This treatment results in a long lasting inside-out nourishment of the skin. This procedure involves micro-needling that'd aid in improving the skin's elasticity, hydration and smoothness. There'd be an evident reduction in fine lines, skin texture and dryness once this is done. Its effect is much more long lasting due to the targeted injection which is not the same with dermal fillers.
